A new town of exceptional quality set amongst mountainous terrain

Damascus Hills is a 300 hectare site allocated mixed-use development located to the west of Damascus near the Lebanese border, set in a landscape of spectacular beauty.  The project was planned to serve as home to 30,000 inhabitants, featuring approximately 7,500 homes, together with a range of retail, office, and hospitality uses. The project was conceived to cater to Damascus’s burgeoning real estate market by creating an environment of exceptional quality that would offer a 21st century mountain resort lifestyle.

Matrix Partnership was appointed to focus on the initial Phase I area, comprising 89 hectares. We worked closely with the client team to define the project vision, develop the concept and prepare a detailed masterplan backed by architectural and landscape design codes, and with other more detailed commissions anticipated.

Matrix Partnership had been exclusively appointed to see through the design development of this remarkable and exciting new town.  However this was just before the Syrian conflict erupted, the onset of which resulted in the indefinite suspension of the project.
