Tourism management raising the quality of offer

Camber Sands is a small seaside resort on the Sussex coast with some of the best beaches in southern England and an extensive system of sand dunes. Matrix Partnership was appointed as part of a team to undertake a wide ranging study of the town and the challenges is faces.  Principal amongst these is the changes in tourism, the basis of the local economy.

Camber Sands has not been responding to the changes in the holiday market and caters for the dwindling family seaside sector, and failing to respond to the demand for high quality short-breaks. Meanwhile, the town faces an influx of wealthy second homers due to its proximity to London.

The study provides an economic and tourist strategy as well as a vision for a regenerated Camber, whilst maintaining its distinctive ‘beach hut’ charm.
