This study, commissioned by Winchester City Council, examines and addresses the pressures for significant redevelopment and infilling in some established residential areas around the city.

Brownfield development policies have led to there being intense pressure for redevelopment in areas of real townscape value and significance both locally and in the wider context of the city.

The studies, which have been adopted by the Council, make a careful analysis of historic development and character and establish policies that will allow sensitive change whilst ensuring that unique and special features and characteristics of each area are retained and enhanced.
