The town of Waterlooville in Hampshire has been identified for major expansion – with 3000 homes and 30 hectares of industrial and commercial premises to be developed over the coming years. Matrix Partnership, working on behalf of the combined local authorities, took a lead role in advancing the masterplanning process whilst working alongside the development interests.

The urban design framework focuses on creating a distinctive response that is integrated with the existing town and involved working up three-dimensional proposals; testing, auditing, advising and negotiating with the development interests on the emerging solutions. Our advice has also been used to inform the Local Development Framework.
