Detailed designs have been prepared on behalf of Swan Country Homes for the redevelopment of two former hospital sites on the edge of Tiverton town centre.

The former District Hospital site includes a Listed Building and an interesting boiler house worthy of retention, for which conversion is identified. Sensitive new mixed use development on the rest of the site is proposed, designed in such a way as to respect the historic buildings and maintain a well-defined building frontage. This site is in a key location on the edge of the historic town centre retail area and the proposals respond by defining this edge within a new landmark building.

The other site is a former workhouse of some historic importance. Proposals identify how the building can be restored in residential use with some adjacent enabling development and in a setting that is sensitive and appropriate to the historic buildings.
