The large and thriving village of Thurston is located on the western fringes of Mid Suffolk District and adjacent to the town of Bury St Edmunds, which is a designated Government Growth Area.

Working on behalf of Hopkins Homes and extension to the village is proposed that comprises approximately 200 homes of mixed tenure and includes a new doctor’s surgery, play facilities and public spaces, all funded through the development.

Proposals have evolved through consultation with and representations to the local planning authority and in close conjunction with a variety of other stakeholders. Detailed contextual analysis has been undertaken to define how the development is sensitively accommodated within the landscape and is fully integrated with the existing village.
