The Mape Project is a development programme of tremendous ambition and importance. The vision is to make a major contribution to the revitalisation of the Sierra Leone economy through investment in the Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom,set within Port Loko District. Central to this vision is the creation of Mape Town, an entirely new multi-functional settlement aimed at the returning Sierra Leonian diaspora and other inward investors as well as offering wide-ranging benefi ts to local people. Complementing this is the creation of the Konakridee Beach Resort as a major new international tourist destination.

Strategically located seven miles north of Freetown International Airport and incorporating a new high-speed ferry link to the capital, the Mape Project is set to create a major new development hub of world-class renown. An integrated urban conurbation is planned, with over 600 acres of land secured for development,making it the largest real estate project in Sierra Leone and the single largest masterplanned development in Western Africa

This pioneering project is spearheaded by IDEA (UK) Ltd, a company formed of internationallybased Sierra Leonians with a passion and commitment to take forward the development of Sierra Leone. The Project was initiated at the behest of the Paramount Chief and the local community as a result of the need to create sustainable economic improvements in the Kaffu Bullom region. The overriding philosophy and working approach is to develop proposals in close conjunction with local people.
