The company was formed in 2000 by directors drawing on over 25 years experience in delivering major urban projects worldwide. We bring together expertise in architecture, landscape design and town planning as the basis for wider collaborations in order to deliver fully-integrated, sustainable design services.

We are driven by the need to address the challenges of urban growth, renewal, changing user needs and the specifics of place. We practice with passion and with a commitment to high quality design, delivered through collaborative working, effective management, planning robustness and foresight.

We operate as part of multi-disciplinary teams that are customised to meet the needs of a specific project. Our approach is founded on the belief that co-operation between different disciplines at the earliest stages allows specific constraints and opportunities to be identified to produce thoughtful and often ingenious solutions.

The practice has successfully led a variety of large-scale urban projects and we are recent recipients of a variety of awards including the RTPI ‘Sustainable Communities Award’ and Regeneration & Renewal Award for ‘Best Use of Planning in Regeneration.’ We are currently working on projects throughout the Middle East, China and Africa.

Linking practice and research helps ensure that we stay at the cutting edge. Projects are informed by training and policy development. We have been commissioned to work on various best practice urban design research, training and design guidance exercises for the UK and Scottish Governments. Practice Directors are frequent lecturers in a variety of UK universities.
